Doctor Urges Portable to Undergo Brain Scan After Boxing Defeat

A Canada-based Nigerian doctor, Arinze Onwumelu, has advised singer Portable to undergo a brain scan following his recent celebrity boxing match against skit maker Carter Efe. The bout, held over the weekend in Lagos, ended with Portable losing after a high-energy contest that drew widespread attention online. Reacting in a viral video, the doctor recommended a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) test to check for possible internal injuries. He explained that repeated blows to the head during the fight could expose the singer to serious conditions such as a subdural haematoma. He further stressed that such exhibition matches are meant for entertainment and not to cause harm, urging organisers to introduce safety measures like mandatory headguards to prevent severe injuries in future events.
