Delta Youth Group Mobilises Support for Tinubu, Sets 2.7m Vote Target

The Delta State chapter of the City Boy Movement has announced plans to deliver about 2.7 million votes for Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next general elections. The declaration was made in Asaba during the inauguration of the group’s state executives and the opening of its secretariat. Representing Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor, described the movement as organised and rapidly expanding, with strong grassroots appeal. He urged members to actively communicate government policies to the public, noting that many reforms are still not clearly understood by the people. According to state leaders of the group, efforts are already in place to build a solid grassroots structure across all local government areas. They stressed that Delta State is expected to contribute significantly to the movement’s national goal of 10 million votes. The Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, called on young people to see themselves as key stakeholders in governance. He admitted that some government policies may seem difficult but insisted they are necessary for long-term economic stability. He also cited developments like the Dangote Refinery as signs of progress. In his remarks, the National Director-General of the movement, Francis Shoga, said the group is focused on structured and coordinated mobilisation. He encouraged members to strengthen their presence at the grassroots and remain united to achieve their objectives. The event attracted many youths and political stakeholders, showing growing support for the movement in Delta State ahead of the next election cycle.
